It’s Official!!!!!!
Well folks. It happened. Stephen Colbert finally took the plunge. Last night he announced that he is running for President of the United States of America both as a Democrat and a Republican in his home state of South Carolina.
We did it!!!!!!!!!!!
All of our petitioning and polling paid off. Now get out there and vote for Stephen Colbert!

South Carolina was the state that started the Confederacy and the Civil War. I think that Stephen is just the man to reverse that and make red and blue a purple country. Is there anyway I can vote in the South Carolina primary? Go Stephen!

Its about time we get an American with good old fashioned family values running for office.
October 18th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
Colbert will lead this country from our current hell hole, and up!(Though he may actually cause us to plummet into a bigger hole.)
October 18th, 2007 at 9:07 pm
I’m totally voting for Stephen. It’s about time we had a president with a sense of truth (and a sense of humor). Good luck in the primary!!!

Dear Stephen,
Please come to run in Wisconsin. Our state is the last one still working on their annual budget (well past due). They’re talking of shutting down the universities. We need you!
Dory
P.S. I think they named Doritoes after me. (Dory-toes) I have pretty feet.

At their show at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ on Oct. 17, Graham Nash and David Crosby threw their support behind Colbert’s campaign. If he can convert those peace-loving hippies, he can do anything!

If there is one person who would know how to best run this country it is Stephen. The minute I heard of his bid for office, I thought of the peace that could come from that. The way to peace in this world is to relax and laugh, and then talk. Not point nukes at eachother and expect the situation to be relaxed.
Can you picture Stephen sitting down with Kim Jung-nam and Hu Jintao?
Stephen, I hope you read this letter for yourself. I hope you do run and do win. I would like to support you in anyway I can.
Will you make signs and bumper stickers availiable for those who wish to support you?

If anyone can fix the mess that Bush got us in Stephen can. I am not a registered voter because
I did not care enough for any candidates to vote - they all seemed in it for themselves.
Stephen, I will register to vote for you as president - finally a candidate I believe in.
Too bad you have so many things to repair. I firmly believe that Bush was the worst thing to happen to
this country and you could be the best. Good Luck!!!

Oh my god! He’s serious! At first, I couldn’t tell…. Then I started thinking….
) which in turn will cause our ever needed “third party”!!
Stephan Colbert is going to start an “upset” by winning as both a democrat and republican, (a Demican, also known as a Democratic American~
He’ll win and suddenly he will become the serious guy off screen that we have never seen and will be THE BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!! Oh my god, this is AMAZING!!!
October 24th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
I like the disicion that Steven has done, I hope that Jon Stuart now is his running buddy. I wold vote for him to be in office until he turns 100! I hope he is elected president, and re-elected, and contiued to be re-elected for ever!!! Steven Colbert, is the best choise, the only choice, and the Right Choice!!
The best choise, The only choice, and The Right Choice!!

You know, I always thought that politics were funny. And I always say, leave the comedy to the professionals. Stephen, I will head butt anyone that doesn’t vote for you.

You are aware that there is a difference between Stephen Colbert the man and the character he plays on his comedy show? I extremely doubt that he’s doing anything beyond yanking the chains of his fan base in his usual inimitable style. Actually walking the walk of a Presidential Campaign much less assuming the office is a whole nother ball of wax together. Even Ronald Reagan had a lengthy political careeer between Hollywood and Washington. While I admit the candidacy has an appeal I don’t believe that there is any more substance behind this then when Howard Stern made his joke run for Governor of NY a few years back.

Colbert is a comic, nothing more. He probably isn’t even creative and/or funny; anyone can seem that way if they have material being shoved down their throat by a team of writers. His major was acting, not political science. Of course it’s easy to make fun of Bush, but I’ll bet you anything that Colbert would easily screw things up faster, and to a greater extent, than Bush ever has. We’d be laughing our way to an economic crisis, not to mention the respect we’d lose in the eyes of every nation.
I really hope you guys are all kidding.

Ethan: “…not to mention the respect we’d lose in the eyes of every nation.”
Really, how’s our respect with other nations doing currently??
BTW, the only rule you need to know about getting re-elected as president is to either:
A) be popular, or
B) start a war.

Frank Lazar & Ethan pull your heads out and breath the fresh air. Colbert is a professional comedian whose job is to make us laugh. But if he can make us think at the same time, then he’s a damn good comedian.
And honestly could anyone screw up this country more than Bush has. Laugh more & THINK a little.

I wonder what Bush’s major is in….

Finally a man willing to reunite North and South Carolina (though force if necessary)! Viva La Carolina! The new nation’s capital state!
October 29th, 2007 at 7:52 am
Go Stephen, you should have Al Gore as your VP since he won’t run on his own.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:21 am
If only he really was running! This man has more intelligence in his pinky finger that the majority of candidates running for real. His comedy act is just that….an act. You have my vote!
October 29th, 2007 at 10:30 am
Stephen Colbert will lead the Stephens as leader of our great nation. We need a Stephen in the White House! There has never been a Stephen in the White house, therefore he is the perfect candidate for the office. No more Johns!
October 29th, 2007 at 11:59 am
ok i got a question can people only vote 4 him in south carolina? i dont really understand it.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
If things don’t go well in South Carolina there is always Canada.

A large Tennessee based alternative online newspaper, www.RheaCountyNewspaper.com known for
it’s unique style of exposing public corruption endorses Stephen Colbert for president. Crakston Cryler,
editor says, “Stephen Colbert is the best candidate for president. California elected a muscled up actor
who made millions playing a “Terminator” role, so Colbert is a shoe-in because he is the man to
terminate the terminators that scare us to death.”
With Stephen Colbert, terrorists will flee with fear, and America will be safe. Then again, the terrorists
may have more fun laughing along with the national beloved Stephen Colbert and choose laughter
instead of bombs.
Cryler went on to say, “If this country can elect Howdy Doody not once, but twice, then anythings
possible”. Click to read more… http://www.rheacountynewspaper.com/newsinfo/stephen-colbert-pres.html

I will never vote for anyone who wears glasses because of what happened in Cleveland in 1925. And that’s why I don’t think you can win more than eight or nine states.

It takes a fake to beat a fake at his own game. I’m a better faker and I will pass you in the polls!

What’s worse, Bush or Steven?
Bush is an idiot and a dictator!
